Pham also asked Japan to help Viet Nam access to the US$10 climate funding pledged by Kishida at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 26).

For his side, Kishida affirmed Viet Nam holds a leading important position in Japan's new foreign policy towards the region.

He promised that Japan will provide new-generation official development assistance for and support the Southeast Asian country in socio-economic development, modernization and industrialization, and green transition
