According to the draft of the Department of Health on "Project for developing pharmaceutical industry in the city until 2030, vision to 2045", the city has many advantages in developing the pharmaceutical industry as the center with the largest human resources of the whole country with many universities.

Medical equipment circulating on the domestic market today relies mainly on imported sources (90%). The Department of Health said that the specialized medical and pharmaceutical industrial park will be located at Le Minh Xuan 2 (area 338ha), Le Minh Xuan commune, Binh Chanh district.
